EXP Changes, Volume Slider, Full screen Toggle
Hey All,
It's been about 1 week since I uploaded Starscourge and I've received a ton of helpful notes and feedback from folks on Itch and the Godot forum. I spent a bit of time crossing items off that list and have uploaded new versions AND moved the HTML version over so now there is one page for both version (Thanks @Antimundo)
Changes:
Pause Menu: "esc" key - Had a fun bug while testing that would lead to unpausing the level up menu but the UI would stay on screen, thank god for if, elif, and else! Unfortunately, this takes you out of full screen in the HTML version. I may change the button in the future or create another toggle that can be used in game.
EXP Gems and Gains: I've changed rates for larger exp gems as well as reduced the amount of exp provided. The goal was to stop multiple levels from being given off the hop or after the first few enemies. it should be much less likely. EXP required to level has been reduced across the board to account for these reductions.
Full screen and Volume UI: I've added a toggle for FS and a slider for master audio bus in the top right. Perhaps in the future I'll separate music and sfx into different sliders and have a menu for these options.
To do:
More enemy variety, less same enemy with more health. More emphasis on Specials like "juggernaut" - I doubt many people have noticed it shooting at them :P
Better UI and Menus - level up UI differentiate upgrade types with colour or other icons to differentiate weapons, upgrades, utilities.
Custom Art - Pixel art to go with the retro feel. this is pretty low prio as I don't want to start this until the game is actually something unique enough to justify that workload.
More weapons - more options but also limited build options/weapon slots to encourage more runs
Progression - what's more motivating than progression? different starter ships, different starter weapons/different uniqueness...
